Khopra Danda Trek

The Khopra Danda Trek, also known as the Khopra Ridge Trek, is a newly started trekking trail situated just north of Poon Hill. It was initiated as a project to uplift the local community through tourism.

The Khopra Danda Trek offers spectacular views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Ranges, including the 8000-meter peaks, Dhaulagiri I (8167m). As a relatively new trekking trail, it is less explored, and only a small number of trekkers undertake this trek each year. Thus, it provides an in-depth opportunity to explore and enjoy the trek to its fullest. For anyone looking for an alternative to the popular treks like Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp, the Khopra Danda Trek is the right trek to go with.

This trek has some of the most scenic trails, which pass through dense pine and rhododendron forests, terraced farmlands, lively villages, ridges, pasturelands, etc. If you are trekking during the springtime, you will be greeted by colorful rhododendron flowers and their enchanting fragrance throughout the trek. The view of hills covered with colorful rhododendrons and the splendid mountain vistas behind is a sight to behold, just like a place from fairy tales.

The cultural experience during the Khopra Danda Trek is equally remarkable as the mountain scenery and landscapes. You will trek through the traditional villages of the Gurung and Magar communities like Ghandruk, Swanta, Ulleri, etc, where you can immerse yourself in the local lifestyle and experience their warm hospitality.

Our 14-day Khopra Danda Trek Itinerary starts from Kimche, and then to Tadapani via Ghandruk, a route of the famous Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. From there, we take the trail north of Tadapani towards Dobato. The trek ends at Hille. If you want to customize the itinerary according to your desire, physical fitness level, or time frame, please do let us know. Our experts will help you create the perfect itinerary that ensures a top-notch experience with safety.
