Chitwan National Park - A wonderland of diverse wildlife and vegetation
Located in the south-central sub-tropical lowlands, the Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich flora and fauna. As of 2024, 68 species of mammals, 56 species of reptiles and amphibians, 544 species of birds, and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. This includes globally endangered and threatened species like the One-horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger, Gharial Crocodile, Bengal Florican, Slender-billed Vulture, White-rumped Vulture, and Red-headed Vulture.
